A decision journal for iPhone

Every decision,
on the record.

You make a hard call, then forget why. Whelmed keeps the reasoning — the options you weighed, what actually mattered, and how sure you were. Come back in six months and find out whether you were right.

Costs more than I wanted, but it clears the work I actually do.

The method

Four steps,
then patience.

Whelmed doesn't decide for you. It makes you write the decision down properly, so that later there's something to learn from.

  1. 01

    Frame it

Name the decision and the options you're genuinely choosing between. Two is usually enough. Writing them down is already most of the work.

  2. 02

    Say what matters

List the criteria the choice actually turns on — cost, time, who it affects. Not a wish list. The three or four things you'd defend out loud.

  3. 03

    Commit, and rate it

Pick one and put a number on how sure you are. The number is the point: it's what makes hindsight worth anything later.

  4. 04

    Come back to it

Weeks or months on, reopen the record. Was the 80% call an 80% call? Do that enough times and your own patterns stop being invisible.

Inside the app

Four tabs. No dashboard.

The Whelmed decisions list, showing logged decisions with their confidence scores, criteria met and the options weighed.
